2020 Bathroom Trends for Spring
Spring is finally here, everything is getting green and nature is rejuvenating. Why not follow suit and spruce up your bathroom? Whether you’re going for a total renovation or just adding a few elements to update the room’s look, here at Richmond, we have you covered. We’ve put together a list of 2020’s hottest design trends to help you plan your brand new bathroom.
-
Eye Catching Finishes
Stainless steel is so 2019! This year, we’re choosing bronze, rose gold or champagne accessories. Rich, metallic fixtures are such an easy way to add some instant luxury to a room. Choose one or two elements to pull the room together with a subtle, rich feel. Pair it with marble or dark shades like navy blue for a really show-stopping effect.
-
Colour
White bathrooms will always look clean, sleek and stylish, but this year, we’re loving bold pops of colour in our bathrooms! The bathroom is one of the few rooms where you can get away with over the top colour, so why not? Bold feature walls are in, and if you’re feeling really daring, we cannot get enough of these colourful bathtubs and sink options from Victoria + Albert, which leads us right into the next item on our list;
-
Deep Soaking Tubs
Have these ever really gone out of style? Your bathroom is often one of the only really private places in your house, and nothing says sanctuary quite like a deep, freestanding tub. Victoria + Albert has so many options, I’m sure that like us, you will have a hard time choosing your favourite. Add a few candles, bubble bath and some plants and you can transform your bathroom from just somewhere you go to take care of necessities, to a place where you can relax, unwind and recharge.
-
Bringing Nature Indoors
With such a huge focus on the environment in recent years, it’s no surprise that houseplants are becoming a big part of interior design in 2020. Your bathroom, with its dewy atmosphere, is the perfect environment for plants, provided they get enough natural light. We’ve noticed some designers taking this trend to the next level by adding real wood elements to the bathroom, such as a wooden vanity, or opting for natural stone tiles.
-
Double Vanities
The classic white vanity is still massively popular as homeowners will always need functional and beautiful cabinets for storage in their bathrooms. This year, however, we’re seeing designers use bathroom vanities in interesting new ways. First up is the double single trend – placing two single vanities next to each other. Victoria + Albert has some stunning basins you can use for a unique spin on the traditional vanity. Another new trend we’re hoping to see more of in the last part of this year: the double vanity island. They take up a lot of floor space, but they are so innovative and versatile that we really hope they become more popular. Don’t forget to pair your vanity with a big dramatic mirror, so on point for 2020!
We hope this list has helped spark some design inspiration! We’re certainly excited to see what the rest of 2020 has in store for your bathrooms and are ready and waiting to make all of your design dreams true!
